Rays of Hope
6th Annual TBI Survivors and Family Conference
Tuesday, June 3, 2008
Glendale Civic Center, 5750 West Glenn Drive, Glendale, AZ
The
6th Annual Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors and Family Conference
will offer opportunities to learn about traumatic brain injury
(TBI) through community, legal, and educational resources.
Survivors, family members and community specialists will guide
you through the stages of living with a brain injury. The conference
will offer four perspectives:
Survivor, Family, Rights, and Community Resources.
Survivors will participate in guided discussions
on living with TBI and will learn about community programs that
may assist them. An ongoing support group will allow survivors
to share their experiences and to learn from others who share
their perspective.
Families will learn how a traumatic brain injury
affects the brain and how it impacts the lives of their survivors
and those who care about them. They will also learn about community
programs that may help and strategies for obtaining the services
they need. An ongoing support group also will be available for
families throughout the day.
The Rights perspective will provide information
on laws and policies that affect people living with brain injury
and their families.
Community Resources will be available throughout
the day to meet one-to-one with conference participants and provide
information on resources and services that are available.
